At our August meeting Stephen Ruff displayed some of his large collection of Much Hadham memorabilia. Members and guests were pleased to see unique photographs of the life of the parish, its buildings, street scenes and events, friends, acquaintances, forebears, characters, sports teams, etc. Also on display were railway memorabilia, and a large number of pamphlets, bills, tickets, minute books etc., taken from everyday life over many years. Of particular interest was a photocopy Stephen had made of Jean Page's handwritten notes made shortly before the publication of her book "A Millennium Scrap Book". As many of you will know, Jean's original and more detailed scrap book has been missing for some time. If anyone knows the whereabouts of the latter, please get in touch with Much Hadham WI.

We plan to arrange a similar evening during 2014 to enable members to display their own Hadham memorabilia and several have already agreed to contribute. Also, at some stage, we will be seeking volunteers to help catalogue Stephen's extensive collection, which will eventually be donated to the Forge Museum.
